One must always take care of their belongings when you’re out and about. Although there are kind-hearted individuals out there, we can’t always assume people will do the right thing. Remember the individual who lost half his savings due to his carelessness?
Fortunately for this woman, not only was her missing purse found and retrieved by a restaurant staff but she also had all her money transferred back to her the same day. Here’s the full story:
Yesterday (Sunday, 1st October), a Facebook user who goes by Mester BlackWater posted a story of what happened to his wife while the family were on holiday at Resorts World Genting. The family decided to dine at a Marrybrown outlet at SkyAvenue. It was only on their way back to Raub, Pahang when the user’s wife realised that her purse had gone missing.
The wife, known as Rosya, decided to call the Marrybrown outlet that they dined in earlier since it was the last known location of her missing purse. Thankfully, Kogi, the staff who answered the call informed her that there was indeed a purse that matched her description and that it was safe in their possession. The staff members couldn’t contact the owner since there was no Identification card (IC) in it, only cash.
Kogi then offered to post the purse back to Rosya but she was worried about the risk of posting a purse filled with money as it could get lost again. So, the woman suggested that the staff just bank the cash back into her account. Not long after that, the purse owner received a photo on WhatsApp that her money had been safely transferred back to her.
Amazed and grateful for the staff’s efficiency, Rosya offered to reward Kogi for helping her return her money but the Marrybrown employee kindly declined her offer. The Facebook user ended his post by praising the Marrybrown outlet and the staff for their kindness and honesty.
Netizens also applauded the staff member for doing the right thing and hoped that she’d be rewarded for her good deeds. We’re glad that this story had a happy ending but let’s also take this as a reminder to be aware of our personal belongings when we’re out and about. Who knows who might end up taking them?
