There’s no stopping JessC. Since releasing her energetic pop single duet with Dato’ AC Mizal, “Mari Menari Raya”, last month, the festive tune has gone on to receive a Platinum award at the LIT Music Awards. This latest achievement marks the first Raya-themed song to clench a win on this international stage. The music video has surpassed 4.6 million views on YouTube.
“When listeners from different countries embrace Raya songs, I feel deeply moved. It makes me believe even more that music can transcend culture and borders,” the homegrown artist reflected. In addition to “Mari Menari Raya”, JessC also won awards for 3 other songs – “Expose” (Malay single), “My Style” (Mandarin single), as well as her English single “One Chance”. It’s worth noting these multilingual wins make her the first artist to celebrate international recognition with works in three languages, further marking her cross-cultural breakthrough.

In a recent press statement, JessC shared that her music has reached across multiple regions, including China, the United States, Europe, Indonesia, and Australia. Some of her songs have even entered radio charts in China and Indonesia. When asked about her music reaching beyond Malaysian listeners, the pop singer described her international achievement as both surprised and deeply encouraged.
“I never imagined that a Raya song could be heard, accepted, and even loved in countries so far away. This is not just a personal achievement, it feels like a moment where Malaysian culture is being heard by the world,” the Kuching-born singer was quoted as saying.

No doubt JessC will be using these recent wins and accolades as fuel to work harder and aim higher. Her goal? To bring Malaysia’s unique identity to the international stage with themes of healing, unity and culture through her art.
