Malaysia Aviation Group Renews Partnership With MATTA To Strengthen M’sia’s Travel Ecosystem

Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has renewed its strategic partnership with the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) for a further three-year term, continuing its role as the Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor of MATTA Fair in Kuala Lumpur and across select MATTA Fair state editions nationwide.

This renewal emphasizes MAG’s continued leadership in shaping Malaysia’s travel ecosystem, leveraging MATTA Fair as a key platform to drive demand, strengthen connectivity, and position the country as the gateway to Asia and beyond. Through the partnership, MAG plays a central role in anchoring the scale and reach of MATTA Fair, while offering greater value for travellers.

MAG has continued to strengthen its presence at MATTA Fair, most recently through the introduction of the MAG Arena – Asia’s Largest Airline Trade Pavilion at a consumer travel fair – which has been recognised by the Asia Records and ASEAN Records. Spanning approximately 46,000 square feet, nearly three times its previous footprint, the pavilion showcased immersive experiences, next-generation travel technology, and large-scale sports partnership activations featuring collaborations with Manchester United and national icon Datuk Azizulhasni Awang, among others.

“As Visit Malaysia 2026 gains momentum, our partnership with MATTA supports our broader strategy to strengthen Malaysia’s position as a gateway to Asia and beyond,” said Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business from MAG. “We thank MATTA for their continued collaboration in providing a strong platform to engage travellers and industry partners alike. At the recent MATTA Fair in Kuala Lumpur, the MAG Arena saw a strong influx of visitors, reflecting the encouraging response to our expanded presence and immersive offerings.”

“Through our growing network, increased connectivity across key markets, and continued focus on delivering a seamless end-to-end travel experience, we are enabling greater access to Malaysia. MATTA Fair serves as an important platform to bring this to life – connecting travellers to our network while supporting the nation’s tourism ambitions, and we look forward to building on this partnership and driving greater impact together in the years ahead.”

“This renewed partnership with MAG is a testament to the shared vision between MATTA and MAG in shaping a progressive and resilient tourism industry,” said Nigel Wong, President of MATTA. “Beyond commercial collaboration, this partnership reflects a joint commitment to delivering value-driven travel experiences while supporting Malaysia’s broader tourism agenda, particularly in advancing the goals of Visit Malaysia 2026.”

“MAG has consistently been a strong supporter of MATTA Fair, and their continued role as our Premier Sponsor strengthens our ability to deliver a world-class travel fair that connects travellers with meaningful and diverse travel opportunities,” he added. “We look forward to building on this partnership in the years ahead as we continue working together to make travel more accessible, which remains our foremost priority.”

Beyond its flagship Kuala Lumpur edition, MATTA Fair’s nationwide footprint extends travel opportunities to communities across Malaysia. MAG will be present at selected MATTA Fair Chapters in Johor Bahru (10th to 12th April), Kota Kinabalu (17th to 19th April), and Penang (25th to 26th April), bringing travel deals up to 30% off and curated offerings such as exclusive merchandises, and interactive product showcases to make it easier for Malaysians to discover, plan, and book their next trip.

MAG and MATTA’s renewed partnership aims to advance Malaysia’s travel ecosystem by strengthening connectivity, deepening industry collaboration, and enabling more seamless travel experiences. As the Official Airline Partner of MATTA Fair, MAG will continue to play a pivotal role in connecting travellers to new destinations while reinforcing Kuala Lumpur’s position as a key gateway to Asia and beyond, supporting the nation’s long-term tourism and economic aspirations.
