Phenomenal news Malaysians! For those of you who missed the solar eclipse 2 weeks ago will have the opportunity to observe a penumbral (shadow) lunar eclipse tomorrow (23rd March 2016).
This is will be the first lunar eclipse this year and it will occur between 7:21pm, when the moon begins rising, to 9:55pm, when the moon moves completely out of the Earth’s shadows.
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, with the cooperation of Starfield Instruments Supply, will be organising a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse observation programme for the public at the National Planetarium tomorrow starting at 7:30pm. Several telescopes will be provided, but those who are interested in participating the programme are encouraged to bring their own telescopes.
Although we may not get to witness a total lunar eclipse, tomorrow’s occurrence is still proof that we live in a fascinating universe.
