Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse Review: Curbing Wrist Fatigue At Work

We’ve all heard of Logitech and their large array of desktop mice and keyboards. Whether it be for gaming or for work, there always seems to be a Logitech mouse available to suit your needs. But with long hours spent at a desk job, using a mouse nonstop can start straining your wrists.

Introducing the new Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic Mouse. Unlike normal mice, vertical ergonomic mice are made to reduce wrist fatigue in the long run. And, luckily for us, we were able to give the mouse a try to see if that’s actually the case.

An Unusual Design

Straight off the bat, the first thing you’ll notice is the unique, vertical design of the mouse. Designed to reduce wrist fatigue after long hours on the computer, you hold it in a “natural handshake position” unlike the usual palm face down position you use with a regular mouse and move it around with your forearm instead of your wrists.

While the mouse was definitely a bit difficult to get used to at first, it wasn’t as weird as we thought it would be. On the contrary, we’ve become a lot more accustomed to using Logitech’s Lift Vertical Ergonomic mouse as compared to the typical one we were using before. Using the mouse has almost become second nature to us despite the unorthodox design.

Although similar to Logitech’s MX Vertical mouse, the Lift Ergonomic Vertical Mouse is said to be made for people with medium- to small-sized hands. And as someone with certified baby-hands, we can say that the mouse was a perfect fit in my palm. On the contrary, if you’re someone with larger hands, this mouse may not feel as comfortable in your palm as it did in mine.

Mouse Movement

However, we will note that the mouse requires a lot more space for movement compared to a regular mouse. When we first used it on my typical mouse pad, we felt very constricted with my forearm movements due to the small circumference of the mouse pad I was previously using.

This was only a small issue though, as its Logitech Advanced Optical Tracking sensor was able to track onto my office table perfectly fine once we gave up using the mouse pad. So far, we haven’t had trouble using the vertical mouse on the table surface just yet!

Durability & Convenience

Running on a single AA battery, the mouse is said to last up to 24 months without having to replace its battery. Of course, we weren’t able to verify this fact within the one week of use, but one of our favourite aspects of this mouse is definitely the magnetic battery door on the mouse where you place the battery and mouse receiver. Oftentimes when we use a regular wireless mouse, it can be quite difficult to pry the battery door open. Having the door be magnetic makes everything so much easier as all you have to do is gently push the battery door down to slip it open!

Not to mention, the mouse is also pretty durable as well! As someone who’s on the clumsier side of the spectrum, it’s safe to say that we have broken a few desktop mice by dropping them in the past. However, when we did eventually drop the Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic mouse while reviewing it, it stayed completely intact and still works fine even after being dropped! Safe to say, we were very pleasantly surprised.

Final Thoughts

All in all, the Logitech Lift Vertical Ergonomic mouse is definitely a good mouse for everyday use despite seeming like a frivolous purchase. Personally, we wouldn’t classify this mouse as a must-have product, especially for its steep price of RM299. But for what it’s worth, the vertical mouse does its job and is pretty comfortable to use, too!
