Meeting an actual celebrity or major influencer in public can feel like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, which would obviously get many people excited. However, several stories circulating on the web recount negative encounters with celebrities, who come off as rude or unfriendly to fans. But let’s say not all celebs are the same.
A user on Threads recently detailed her experience with local YouTuber, Azfar Heri, after meeting him at an event at KLCC. In a post yesterday (7th July 2025), the user @/myromana praises his friendly and polite behaviour when meeting with fans, and thanks him for treating her kindly.
She said a number of famous influencers have been known to be snobby and unapproachable; however, her encounter with Azfar completely changed that view. “Last week, I met Azfar Heri at an event at KLCC, and he is incredibly friendly and polite. His vibe is exactly like how he is online.” The netizen continues by thanking him for treating her kindly, saying, “Thank you for treating Aunty kindly”.
The thread, which has since garnered up to 2.6k likes, has most netizens agreeing with her sentiment and even sharing stories about their own chance encounters with influencers. Thread user @/_blared_ comments, “Fimie Done is also really humble. He even sent coffee to my workshop, even though I was supposed to pick it up at the shop, but my car broke down“. Some netizens, however, claimed that Azfar was not friendly to them during an event – but one netizen defended him, saying, “He’s not a puppet that is supposed to be happy 24 hours, cracking jokes. Even we aren’t like that, right?”
