Imagine being a mother and seeing your child suffering from pain, yet have no choice but to wait hours just to be attended to. That was what this Malaysian mother went through at the Sungai Buloh Hospital when her baby suffered a seizure.

Nurul Izzah took to the Facebook page ‘47000 Sungai Buloh Official’ to share her experience at the hospital. The post started with the mother expressing her disappointment and asking, “Is Sungai Buloh Hospital always like this?”. According to the mother, her child had a seizure in the morning and went to the yellow zone of the emergency room at Sungai Buloh Hospital at 11:30AM.

However, she said that the doctor only attended to the child at 3:30PM, after the mother complained to other patients. In the post, Nurul Izzah said no staff had approached her, except for the nurse who took the child’s blood pressure when they arrived.

She then shared that the doctor only began administering a saline drip and oxygen once the child suffered another seizure. Despite mentioning that she understands how busy the emergency ward can get, the mother was still disappointed at how long it took for her child to receive medical attention, especially after suffering two seizures.

Nurul Izzah’s story had many other Malaysians expressing sympathy for her and her child and sharing their disappointment about government hospitals. Many had also shared their bad experiences, like one mother who said her child wasn’t given medication by the same hospital even after a seizure. Another netizen said the same thing will happen at most public hospitals because they are often overcrowded but understaffed. Some netizens even offered suggestions for other hospitals the mother can visit for future cases.
