14th February is a day some look forward to, some dread and for others, it’s a normal day. However, regardless of how one feels about the day, it is Valentine’s day! The day of romance; giving flowers, going on dates and having romantic dinners… basically a day to make your partner swoon and fall in love with you again.
Not all of us have a significant other to dedicate the day to, and that’s okay. But for those who do, well, we kinda expect them to go all out. Our local celebrities certainly did their best to and several had an eventful day!
1. Yuna & Adam Sinclair
International artiste Yuna may be loved by many Malaysians, but no one loves her more than her husband, Adam. The sweet couple apparently went on a date in LA, but only commemorated it with a single selfie on Yuna’s Instagram story. It’s perfect, especially if they want to keep their romance on the down-low. After all, you don’t always need to flaunt your love. Yuna may not have shared a lot of photos from their date, but from the satisfied looks on their faces, they certainly enjoyed it!
2. Chryseis Tan & Faliq Nasimuddin
Chryseis (陈雪铃) and Faliq had a textbook Valentine’s day celebrations, but no less romantic in any way. Faliq had a bouquet of pink flowers delivered to Chryseis, accompanied by a handwritten card. The words were for Chryseis’ eyes only, but she did share Faliq’s sign-off on her Instagram Story which left many cooing. “Love, Your ongoing husband,” he wrote, to which she replied, “Yes, you are!” They also had a lovely dinner together at Hide with a sweet desert to finish the night off. Talk about a dreamy date!
3. Jack Tan & Mei Sim
Malaysian artists Jack Tan (陳澤耀, Ah Zhe, 阿哲) and Mei Sim (云镁鑫) decided to forgo romantic dinners and went on an adventure together instead. The married couple went hiking and walking, which was likely tiring, but fun. After all, at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you’re doing. It only matters who you’re with!
4. Janna Nick & Dini Schatzmann
This celebrity couple also went on an adventure; a sweet getaway in the city. Dini took Janna out for a lovely dinner which she clearly enjoyed, based on how happily she munched on the food. In addition to the dinner date, Dini apparently got Janna a few gifts. From her gleeful look at the end of the video, Dini certainly met all of Janna’s standards.

YouTuber Julene’s former relationship with artist Danny Koo is officially a thing of the past. This influencer announced her new beau on V-day itself! Julene introduced her current boyfriend as Wu (伍) and explained he was her cameraman. “He is the (person) backing me,” she wrote. “Whenever there is work pressure of something, I can survive with him.” Julene reassured her followers that Wu takes good care of her and asked them to remind Wu not to be so shy on camera. Well, we certainly wish this sweet couple all the best!
6. Lim Shang Jin & Gatita Yan
Popular YouTuber Shang Jin (林尚进) nearly ruined his date with Gatita (Tong Lee Yan) by letting netizens chose their itinerary for the day. The couple ended up touring Batu Caves while dressed in Totoro clothes. Thankfully, Shang Jin wasn’t blind to Gatita’s unhappiness. He quickly took control of the situation by taking her home to change their clothes, before treating her to the dinner she wanted. Additionally, he spent RM1000 for a high-end hotel, but it was a bouquet of roses which finally brought Gatita’s sunny mood back. That was certainly a rollercoaster of a date!

The Miss Astro 2017 winner certainly had a lovely dinner date with her hubby Yang Quan Wen (杨荃文). However, her Valentine’s day wasn’t limited to just her current family. Apparently, Moon is expecting her second child! It’s certainly a wonderful Valentine’s gift to her whole family. Congratulations to the happy expecting couple!
