A wedding is often a joyous occasion, celebrated with your closest relatives and loved ones. However, for local artist Jacqueline Ng (黄裔媁), her wedding reception turned into a horrific event after several wedding crashers came and caused chaos.
The public figure took to Facebook to share what had happened at her wedding, which took place at a banquet hall in Bukit Mertajam. She wrote, “I have been getting a lot of feedback from guests. Since the people I invited (to my wedding) were important in our lives, we determined the guests and tables in advance and arranged them properly to make sure everyone was comfortable. It’s not that I’m careless or worried about not being able to afford the cost, but the situation was different. I wanted to be charitable so I kept silent and settled things quietly.”

Jacqueline explained that, during her wedding reception, several wedding crashers came and took away her guests’ seats, causing chaos for guests who couldn’t find their places. The celeb shared that some of these wedding crashers were middle-aged men and women who claimed to be her neighbours. Fortunately, there were extra tables in the venue for her guests, so no one left without getting a seat.
Surprisingly, the celeb was once warned about wedding crashers by a friend whose wedding was trespassed by a group who took up half of the wedding hall. As he did not have a proper seat arrangement, the wedding ended with guests leaving without having a chance to sit down. Unfortunately for Jacqueline, even with pre-determined seatings, this issue still happens. She lamented that this is a serious issue that needs to be taken care of.
In her Facebook post, she included images of the wedding crashers and screenshots of her conversations with her guests. Many of the guests said they were confused by the presence of these individuals as they did not seem familiar. One guest even said it was odd that there were middle-aged people in a table of young guests. Thankfully, the guests could still find their seats during the banquet as these individuals left after finishing their meal.

Jacqueline also called out these individuals, saying that if they were desperate for food, she could’ve helped or treated them to a meal. However, she said it was shameless of them to crash her wedding and cause trouble. The singer also noted the situation was particularly frustrating since she couldn’t entertain her guests properly. She then apologised to her guests and thanked them for their tolerance and understanding.
After sharing images of the wedding crashers, some netizens have pointed out that one of the individuals may have trespassed at other weddings in the past. While unconfirmed, an image of the previous wedding crasher does bear a resemblance to the one shared by Jacqueline. This issue left many angered, saying these wedding crashers should be shamed.

It must have been frustrating for Jacqueline to have to deal with this. Luckily, her guests could still celebrate a joyous occasion with her. However, we agree that wedding crashing is a problem that needs to be tackled by authorities.
