The only daughter of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Lisa Marie Presley, has died at age 54. “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley confirmed in a statement to PEOPLE.
“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”
The singer was rushed to hospital on Thursday after suffering from a cardiac arrest. She was found unresponsive at her home in Calabasas, California. Sources close to Lisa Marie Presley also told TMZ that she was suffering from a “full arrest” before a bystander administered epinephrine to help her regain a pulse.
Lisa Marie Presley, born on 1st February 1968, followed in her father Elvis Presley’s footsteps by pursuing music. She released three albums during her career: “To Whom It May Concern” (2003), “Now What” (2005), and “Storm & Grace” (2006). (2012). When she was nine years old, she became a joint heir to her father’s estate along with her grandfather Vernon Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Presley after her father died in 1977.
She married Danny Keough in 1988, with whom she welcomed her two children Riley and Benjamin in 1992. However, her son Benjamin died by suicide at age 27 in 2020.
After the divorce with Keough in 1994, she married singer Michael Jackson in less than a month, but the relationship only lasted for two years. She then got engaged to John Oszajca, a Hawaiian-born musician. Though the relationship ended when she met Nicholas Cage, they had a secret wedding in Hawaii on the 25th anniversary of Elvis’s death. Yet, in less that four months after the wedding, the couple called it quits.
In 2006, she got married to Michael Lockwood, whom she welcomed twin daughters Harper and Finley two years later. Lisa Marie filed for divorce in 2016 and ever since then, the pair have been entangled in a custody fight over their children.
Her last public appearance was at the Golden Globes, where she was spotted with her mother. The two were seen in tears as Austin Butler won Best Actor for his portrayal of her father.
