Lil Nas X may not be the most demure, but a recent incident has sparked concern over the star’s well-being. Recently, the American rapper was arrested and hospitalised after displaying odd behaviour in public.
According to reports, the rapper was wandering around the Studio City neighbourhood in Los Angeles on Thursday (21st August 2025) morning, around 4am. Lil Nas X, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, was clad in only his underwear and boots. The sighting prompted several passersby to contact the Los Angeles Police Department. When authorities arrived, the rapper was still walking down the street.
Lil Nas X also reportedly charged at the officers, prompting an arrest. He was later transported to a local hospital for what was described as a possible drug overdose. A few hours after his arrest, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the 26-year-old was charged with a misdemeanour on an allegation of assaulting a police officer. His reps have yet to comment on the issue, and the singer is reportedly still hospitalised.
Back in February, Lil Nas X shared an update with fans in a video, noting that the last few years have been pretty “difficult” for him, adding that he was being “flaky” and “all over the place”. Later in April, the Grammy winner revealed that his face had become paralysed, leaving him unable to control the right side of his face. Lil Nas X has since recovered from his facial paralysis, but never disclosed what led to the issue.
Regardless, fans and netizens have since voiced their concerns through social media and wished Lil Nas X a smooth recovery. While the overdose remains unconfirmed, many also urged him to seek professional help if he is struggling with substance abuse. However, as the rapper was supposed to release an album later this year, some suggested that the incident may be a stunt to promote the new release.
