It’s the moment local rock fans have been waiting for – American rock band Green Day is finally coming to Malaysia! After years of waiting, the band will perform at their first Malaysian concert in February 2025.
Live Nation Malaysia recently announced that the three-piece will be coming to Malaysia for their long-awaited concert, performing on 18th February 2025 (Tuesday) at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil. Ticket prices have yet to be revealed, but tickets will go on sale on 27th September 2024 (Friday). MasterCard users and Live Nation members can also snag tickets earlier via the pre-sale on 24th and 26th September 2024 (Tuesday and Thursday).
As aforementioned, this concert will be the band’s first performance in the country. The concert will be part of the ongoing “The Saviors Tour” and is the third Asian stop alongside Indonesia and Japan. The tour also celebrates the 30th and 20th anniversaries of Green Day’s highly successful albums, Dookie and American Idiot. The band will be performing songs from both albums during the show, so expect to hear hits like “Basket Case”, “American Idiot”, and “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams”.
As part of the American rock scene, Green Day is notable for being one of the bands which brought punk rock to the mainstream in the United States. The band was formed in 1987 and has seen several lineup changes. However, fans are most familiar with the lineup of frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt and drummer Tré Cool.
