It’s tiresome to be bombarded with the same questions by our aunties every Chinese New Year during family reunions. Don’t you just love having relatives so concern about your love life?
This year though, Lazada Malaysia is offering shoppers a chance to bring home a “leng chai” (translation: handsome man) to show off to your relatives this Chinese New Year. The e-commerce company has dubbed the campaign as ‘Slash’ the Leng Chai, where you can bring home a fake boyfriend as a date.
How does one win home a “boyfriend”? From 16th to 18th January 2019, shoppers in the Klang Valley area can slash the price of a leng chai from RM8,888,888 to zero on the Lazada app. You can even get your friends and family to help you achieve 48 slashes – that is the amount of slashes required to score a date at RM0.
“The aim of ‘Slash’ the Leng Chai is to highlight what really matters during this festive season – being with family and counting our blessings. Many elderly folks living in homes rarely receive visits or leave the home during CNY, and reunion dinner plays a significant part in ushering in the New Year. We want to share the love through this initiative by bringing the reunion to them – including boyfriends!” said Andrew Gnananantham, Chief Marketing Officer of Lazada Malaysia.
