#KTM: Trains To Run For 24 Hours From 8th – 10th Feb In Conjunction With Thaipusam

It’s the festive season again!

In conjunction with Thaipusam, which will be happening this week, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) will commission their fleet of KTM Komuter trains to run for 24 hours, non-stop, for a total of 3 days starting tomorrow (Wednesday, 8th February).

This is because many devotees will be heading to Batu Caves, one of the terminal stations, for the annual ritual. “The train operations will be extended after the current hours. Using additional trains, it will operate from midnight until 5:30am. The service is meant for the public’s usage, especially those observing Thaipusam and tourists who are going to Batu Caves,” continued KTMB’s statement.

The following stations will also be open for the whole duration:

  • Batu Caves
  • Putra
  • Kuala Lumpur
  • KL Sentral
  • Petaling
  • Seri Setia
  • Batu Tiga
  • Shah Alam
  • Klang
  • Pelabuhan Klang
  • Rawang
  • Sungai Buloh
  • Kepong Sentral
  • Bandar Tasik Selatan
  • Kajang

A total of 623 trains will be operating during this period, and to ensure the safety of commuters, 500 KTMB employees, inclusive of operation managers, train drivers, and auxiliary police, will be on duty. For the further convenience of commuters, the KTM trains from Port Klang, Rawang, and Seremban will be also be heading directly to Batu Caves from 10:30pm to 5:30am until 10th February.

In addition, a 20% discount will also be given to those who buy return tickets to Batu Caves from the period of 8th February (Wednesday) until 11th February (Saturday).
