Police nabbed a male celebrity after he was caught in the act of attempted murder and suicide. The unnamed suspect, who is known to be an actor in his 30s, was caught trying to kill his wife, who happens to be an actress as well.
According to the statement by the Yongsan Police Station, the man had reportedly stabbed his wife with a piece of knife in the lobby of the man’s apartment, which is located in Itaewon, Yongsang-gu, Seoul. The incident took place at around 8:40 am (7:40am local time).
The wife was immediately taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for her injuries. According to reports, the wife is an actress in her 40s. It’s understood that the actress used to be a model. She then launched her career in the entertainment scene as a singer. After her group disbanded, she became more active as an actress. She gained a lot of popularity in the late 2000s, following her appearances as a supporting act in several well-known K-dramas.
The police arrived at the scene after receiving a report about the incident, and caught the man in the act. The police are planning to investigate the circumstances of the incident and the motive of the crime against the actor. So far, it has been reported that the two were already separated. As per AllKpop, it is also said that the wife had a restraining order against the husband. The police added that the husband had been waiting for the wife with the weapon on his hand, before committing the crime.
The identity of the celebrity couple have not been disclosed to the public yet. The police also stated that further investigation will be carried out once the man recovers from attempted suicide.
