Although fans were devastated by the announcement that KLP48 member Lucine would soon be graduating from the group, many are also eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the second-generation members. Earlier this year, it was announced that auditions for the new generation would run until August.
After almost 2 months, we’ve finally received an update on who made the cut to join AKB48’s Malaysian sister group! In a YouTube livestream earlier this week, KLP48 officially introduced their new members. Let’s find out who they are:

As shown in the screenshots above, KLP48 has welcomed 13 new members to the group: seven Malaysians, one Japanese, one Kazakh and four Indonesians. Each of the new members was given the chance to introduce herself during a live broadcast hosted by their seniors, Amanda and Hilary. In no particular order, here are their names and where they’re from:
- Alice (Malaysia)
- Isabel (Malaysia)
- Tara (Malaysia)
- Mashiro (Japan)
- Aisha (Kazakhstan)
- Sharleez (Malaysia)
- Maia (Malaysia)
- Diva (Indonesia)
- Cindy (Indonesia)
- Jo (Malaysia)
- Shu Zhen (Malaysia)
- Kei (Indonesia)
- Hana (Indonesia)

After their introduction, several of the second-generation members were given the opportunity to showcase their special skills and hidden talents. At the time of writing, the official KLP48 website has yet to provide further details on the new members, and no date has been announced for their official debut.
Nevertheless, fans are eager to see the girls join future activities alongside the first-generation members. Congratulations to the new additions to the AKB48 Group family! All the best to all of them on their idol journey.
