There’s no question that things have been going from bad to worst.

Just minutes ago, the government announced that Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya will be placed under Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) starting Wednesday (14th October).

“To prevent the virus from spreading to other districts, the National Security Council (NSC) has agreed to implement the CMCO for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya,” Senior Minister for Security Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob was quoted as saying. The CMCO is expected to last till 27th October.

As of now, here are a few highlights to note during this 2-week period:

  • Inter-district travelling will be barred unless you can provide a work pass or consent letter from your employer.
  • Only 2 persons from a household can go out and buy essentials.
  • All schools, higher learning institutions, skills training institutes, kindergarten, nursery, tahfiz centres, public parks, recreational parks, and places of worship will need to close.
  • All sports activities, recreational, social, cultural, wedding receptions, together with entertainment centres and night clubs won’t be allowed to operate.
