More often than not, the importance of a picture is not so much the picture itself but more of the story behind it. The knowledge and understanding of what happened before the picture was taken gives the picture a more powerful impact and sends out a stronger message.

Incorporating the saying ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’ with the concept of photography, the Kedah International Photography Awards (KIPA) is an open award for both Malaysian and international participants. Collaborating with local home stays operators in Kedah on packages which will allow photographers to experience a cultural part of the state to showcase the oldest cultural history in South East Asia. Photographers will be provided with a photo trail through places of interests like mountains, lakes, marine parks, ancient ruins, historical sites and more to show the world what Kedah has to offer through their pictures.
