It’s official – YB Khairy Jamaluddin is set to make his radio debut soon! The former Health Minister will be joining Hot FM as a DJ.
In a statement posted by the Media Prima Audio (MPA), Khairy – or KJ – will be part of the radio station’s “Bekpes Hot” segment alongside Johan, AG, and Dato’ AC Mizal. He will begin his first day with Hot FM on 15th February (next Wednesday).
The matter was also confirmed by KJ himself in a telephone interview during the morning show earlier today with radio announcers Johan, AG and Datuk AC Mizal. As revealed in the statement, the offer was made through an open letter on Instagram last week. “The offer to Khairy was made in an open letter on Instagram @hotfm976. He will be on air from 6am to 10am, Mondays to Fridays,” MPA stated. “Having him join the Hot FM is in line with the radio station’s tagline – ‘Yang Hangat Dan Terbaik’ (‘The Hottest And Best’).”
At the same time, MPA CEO Nazri Noran said that the former Rembau MP’s presence in the radio station will make it fresher and more relevant to its listeners. “Khairy or KJ is not only a great politician and leader, but also an influencer who has a huge impact on Malaysians. His presence in Hot FM will give something different to the listeners, as well as new dimension to Malaysian radio stations,” Nazri remarked.
