Scams are a common occurrence in one’s daily life. Even if you haven’t encountered one, someone you know surely has. With all the constant scams, people have wizened up to them. However, that only means scammers are getting more creative.

Actress Kelly Chen (陈柏渝) reported a pretty interesting one. This time, it involved a fake shoe company, photos of feet and a very specific request for toes.

Kelly took to Facebook yesterday (28th February) to warn others of her experience. “Females should pay attention!” she stated. “I heard there are many people who want (photos of hands and feet), (they) will make indecent videos using AI to sell on the internet.”

Apparently, the actress had been contacted by someone claiming to be from a shoe company. The alleged agent wanted to discuss the possibility of Kelly endorsing their company. The actress went along with the discussion at first. The agent had apparently asked questions about her feet, such as if she had tattoos or onychomycosis. Once she reassured the agent she was fine, Kelly was asked to take photos of her feet.

Something eventually felt off to the actress when the agent asked for more footage of her feet, or more specifically, her toes. “I thought it was strange,” Kelly said, referring to the request. “We don’t walk one by one on our toes!” She asked the agent about their company, but they remained elusive, claiming they were an upcoming brand who were still considering ambassadors.

After the conversation, Kelly decided to ask another female artist about the experience. As it turned out, they had also encountered a similar ploy. Apparently, they too had been asked for footage of their feet and toes. After handing the photos and videos over, the alleged agent would cut contacts with them.

Well, they definitely aren’t a shoe company, even if they are still dealing with feet. And while a foot fetish isn’t exactly a crime, scamming people for feet footage doesn’t exactly sit right.

Be aware of evil things afoot!
