Katy Perry: Breathtakingly Beautiful & Inspiring

by Lainey

There’s a place on earth that’s like a giant fairy tale candy land and evidently, that place is in the “Part of Me” movie.

She has already made international headlines and global news following her amazing breakthrough single, “I Kissed A Girl”. She continued to top charts and raise the bar for her artiste peers with “California Gurls”, “Firework”, “Hot N Cold”, “Teenage Dream”, “E.T.”, “Part of Me”, and “The One Who Got Away”.

Uh, did we miss any of Katy Perry‘s songs out?

Don’t expect to hear much about her growing up (although there were smatterings of it) because clearly, “Part of Me” was staged to market her world tour. Sort of like an “after movie” tossed with lots of behind-the-scenes footage, if you will.

There was also the breakdown of her marriage to comedian Russell Brandt, which was highly publicized. It got the world buzzing and, well, that’s part and parcel of being a super mega (dare we say, universal?) star. What we didn’t expect to see was the documentation of the sudden decline of her love life. When the usually cheery and quirky Katy Perry cried, we almost wanted to reach out to her.

But instead, she plastered on a bright smile and carried on with her breathtakingly beautiful performance. To sing, dance, and inspire the largest crowd, in the Brazil leg of her tour.

Truth be told, “Part of Me” sucks you into Katy Perry’s year-long tour and leaves you with sparkles in your eyes – be it from tearing with pain and joy or from the setup of the concert production. Cotton candy clouds, colourful costumes, pyrotechnics, strange but cute dancing creatures, upbeat “feel good” song after song, you name it. Let’s not forget the way she communicates with her fans seamlessly, reminding them to believe – just like she did when she was just a young Christian girl.

In short, it’s hard to not smile and sing along. Oh come on now, we know you know the words. Admit it.
