A few years ago, K-pop superstar Ailee (에일리) shocked fans with photos of her in a wedding gown, believing that she was going to get married soon. Sadly, it turned out that it was just a costume as she was filming for her concert promos.
This time, however, fans would actually be hearing wedding bells ringing. Earlier this morning (Tuesday, 14th May), it was reported that the singer will be marrying her boyfriend former “Singles Inferno” contestant Choi Sihun (최시훈)! Here are the details:
According to News1, Ailee’s agency A2Z Entertainment revealed that she and the actor have actually been engaged since March earlier this year but at the time, the singer did not disclose the identity of the person she was dating. Back then, the “I’ll Hold You” songstress confirmed with fans that she was in a romantic relationship with a non-celebrity businessman after rumours circulated that she was seeing someone.
“Everyone must have been very surprised by the sudden news about my relationship. I wanted to personally share this news when my heart was ready so I felt a little sad as if the opportunity had been taken away from me. However, reading your sincere congratulations, I now want to share that happiness with you all. We are dating happily, so please support us. I will divulge more in the future. Thank you,” she said.
Who would’ve thought that said businessman was actually Choi Sihun, who happens to own a restaurant in Seoul? Despite reports claiming that the 34-year-old was dating a non-celebrity boyfriend, her soon-to-be-husband has actually been active in the entertainment industry since 2019, starring in dramas like “I Started Following Romance” and “Standby Curator”.
While there’s no information on how long the two have known each other, Sihun once posted a photo that he attended the singer’s concert back in October last year. According to A2Z Entertainment, the couple plans to officially tie the knot next year in 2025 but the specific date of the wedding hasn’t been disclosed.
Although many are surprised by the announcement, fans are still excited to hear that their idol will be marrying the love of her life. We too would like to congratulate Ailee and Choi Sihun on their relationship!
