Back when love was handwritten lyrics and a scratched-up mix CD, Jimmy Eat World was the soundtrack to every crush, heartbreak, and late-night MSN chat. Now, they’re back to remind us why feeling too much never really went out of style.
The Arizona legends behind “The Middle,” “Sweetness,” and “Pain” are stepping into 2025 with a double dose of nostalgia. They’re dropping a new EP, “Something(s) Loud”, on 14th November and hitting the road for a huge world tour—with their first Coachella comeback since 2011.
Back and Louder Than Ever

After celebrating milestone anniversaries for their iconic albums Clarity, Futures, and Surviving, the band’s ready to turn the amps back up. Their 2025 tour includes everything from sold-out headliners to major festivals like Sonic Temple, Download and Welcome to Rockville, plus a wild summer run with The Offspring and New Found Glory.
Basically, it’s the millennial emo dream we didn’t know we needed.
The EP That Feels Like a Memory

“Something(s) Loud” is the band’s first official physical release in a while, a six-track time capsule featuring digital singles like “Something Loud,” “Place Your Debts” and “Call to Love” (feat. Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast). It also includes unreleased gems like “Failure,” a track left behind from their Surviving sessions.
Frontman Jim Adkins explained that the project came from a desire to reconnect after the pandemic—to give fans something new to hold onto. “By 2021, it felt like distancing restrictions were easing and we could get back on the road,” he said. “It didn’t feel right to tour without offering something more.”
That’s where “Something(s) Loud” comes in, mixing old and new with songs about loss and rediscovery. The title track hits with that classic Jimmy Eat World energy, while “Failure” finds meaning in falling short, paired with a nostalgic skate-style video that nods to their early days in Arizona.
Vinyl, Feelings, and Full Circles

In an age of streaming and skip buttons, Jimmy Eat World’s choice to release the EP on vinyl feels perfectly on-brand. The band has always believed that a song only feels real once it exists physically, and honestly, there’s something poetic about spinning a record called “Something(s) Loud” instead of scrolling for it.
It’s nostalgic, yes, but not outdated. It’s the sound of a band growing older without losing that spark.
Still Part of Something Loud

Over 20 years after “The Middle” first told us everything will be just fine, Jimmy Eat World is still reminding us of the same thing—just with a little more grit, a little more wisdom, and maybe a nicer turntable.
So here’s to the band that raised us, wrecked us, and still manages to make our hearts race with every chord. Because being part of something loud? That never really ends.

Jimmy Eat World’s “Something(s) Loud” EP drops 14th November via Exotic Location Recordings. Vinyl and limited signed copies are available for pre-order at JimmyEatWorld.com.
