Artist Jenny Tseng (甄淑诗) has never been one to mince her words when it comes to airing her opinions. Well, she recently criticised Hong Kong artist Adam Cheng (郑少秋)’s life skills after it was revealed that his eldest daughter Angelina Cheng On-yee (郑安仪) had committed suicide.

It was reported early October that 55-year-old Angelina Cheng had been found in her home in Southern California after taking her own life. The tragic news saddened many, including Jenny Tseng. However, she felt Adam Cheng might have been somewhat responsible for the situation.

“Age, psychological (and) financial situation; (if you’re) not ready, why have a baby?” Jenny wondered yesterday (2nd October) in a post on her Facebook, claiming babies needed love, time and milk powder to thrive. “I’m sorry to hear about Adam Cheng’s family affairs yesterday,” she added. “He didn’t handle his life well. Just like what (a) shameless netizen said~ (he had) casual (sex).”

Angelina had been born to Adam and his then-partner, Lo Wai Yu (卢慧茹). But, the duo never tied the knot and shortly after their break up, Wai Yu allegedly left and took Angelina with her. To this, Jenny commented: “Everyone has (their) story. Maybe the man was selfish, and the woman’s overflowing motherly love (was done) without thinking, and only the child is the most innocent.”

“Personally, I believe that before, parents had to be responsible in raising their children until they are 18 years old. But now that times have changed, technology has made children mature faster. When they start to talk to you, parents must know how to respect and help them, (so as to) maintain a good (relationship) with them for a long time,” she opined.

Since news of Angelina’s passing, many have been scrutinising Adam Cheng’s relationships, with some observing how his four daughters, born to different mothers, all led different lives. Most netizens seem to agree with Jenny Tseng’s view on the matter, but, there are a few who apparently aren’t happy with her assessment.

Adam Cheng’s current wife, Koon Jing-wah (官晶华), has confirmed that they are processing the situation, and will be helping Lo Wai Yu with the funeral arrangements, if she permits. She also added that Adam is currently mourning Angelina Cheng’s passing.
