American film producer J.C. Spink (of “Monster-in-Law”, “The Hangover”, and “We’re The Millers” fame) has died. He was 45 years old.

Spink, who established Benderspink with Chris Bender in 1998, was found unresponsive at his home in Hollywood. He was pronounced dead last night at 8:18pm (US time).

On top of producing some of the biggest, most diverse mid-budget e.g. “Cats & Dogs”, “The Ring” franchise (under Benderspink), “Kyle XY” (for television), “We’re The Millers”, “Leap Year”, and more, he also has a dozens of projects in development. Including the upcoming live-action adaptation of Disney’s “Mulan”, which is expected to be released next year.

The Golden Globe-nominated producer had been working with New Line Cinema for more than 15 years, delivering franchises like “The Butterfly Effect” and “Horrible Bosses”. Upon news of his death, New Line Cinema wrote, “We are all deeply saddened to learn of J.C.’s passing,. J.C. was a groundbreaking manager, producer, partner, and dear friend of New Line’s for over 20 years. He was an innovator who helped re-shape the industry and leaves behind a legacy of classic films. We will forever miss his tremendous humor and infectious passion. We extend our deepest condolences to his family.”
