Jared Leto Tried To Stop The New “Joker” Movie From Being Made

Jared Leto was said to be fuming over the new Todd Phillip’s project, “Joker”, and at one point even tried to shut it down.

According to a report from The Hollywood Reporter, a source familiar with Leto, said that the actor was left enraged when he learned that Warner Bros. has green-lit Phillip’s project.

This left the Oscar winner feeling like he been hard strung by the studio, with them also promising Leto to have his own Joker stand-alone film, which has yet to come to fruition. Leto reportedly complained to his agents at CAA, who also represent Philips, and also pressured his music manager, Irving Azoff, to contact the Warner’s parent company’s leader. All of this was to ensure that the “Joker” movie was killed off.

The resulting backlash of the entire event have seemingly made Leto jump ship to CAA’s competitor, WMA, which Leto is now represented by. It was reported that Leto felt that CAA should have notify him about the Phillip’s project sooner and fought harder for his rendition of the Joker character. The actor also reportedly ended his relationship with Azoff, for the same reason.

In light of the incident, Leto’s new representative from WMA has come out to smooth over the entire situation. The new representative claimed that the actor is still happily working with Warner Bros. with Leto currently filming John Lee Hancock’s “Little Things” with the studio, insisting that there is no bad blood between them.

Leto portrayed the Joker character back in 2016, in the “Suicide Squad” movie with him infamously being a little too into the role. Ultimately, his performance in the DC film was less than desirable, which resulted in his Joker character being stuck in limbo.
