Malaysian-born actress Jacqueline Ch’ng (庄思敏) has been on a travelling spree since returning to Malaysia to visit her family. Her latest trip took her to the Land of the Rising Sun and from photos she’s been having a lot of fun eating, drinking and shopping!
Japan is a popular tourist spot with most, and Jacqueline Ch’ng is no different. However, unlike others, the 44-year-old actress had made buying handbags from second-hand stores her mission. Still, netizens weren’t too happy with her plans as some doubted the authenticity of said bags.
Along with picturesque photos detailing her time in Japan, Jacqueline Ch’ng has also added several videos of herself shopping for branded bags in second-hand stores on her Instagram. Her first video showed her dithering between two Hermès Colorado bags of different colours. Another showed her sporting a Hermès Garden Party and the last, a Hermès Dalvy.
Jacqueline certainly looked as though she was enjoying herself, candidly asking her cameraman which she should pick between the two Hermès Colorado and jokingly offering to get the Garden Party for anyone who wanted it. “I’ll bring it back to you for 15,000 yuan (~RM9873.88) (as) it’s second-hand,” she said. But, her video with the Dalvy apparently had to be scrapped as her cameraman was too tall, hence making her look short in the video.
Still, she happily presented her spoils on 18th March when she returned home to Hangzhou, China. Settled in the comfort of her home, Jacqueline unboxed her purchases, revealing she had bought the orange Hermès Colorado in the end, and a green Hermès Christine, which she claimed she had never seen before.
While most netizens were left agape at her haul, others were doubtful about the authenticity of the bags. One netizen commented: “The base looks like (it’s made of) rubber, is it real or fake? Kelly Chan has used a fake LV.” “The Datuk’s daughter wants to sell goods,” another said.
Jacqueline Ch’ng has yet to comment on the authenticity of her bags, however, she doesn’t seem too worried about that as she’s perfectly happy flaunting them. It’s certainly not too surprising as Jacqueline has displayed her favourite handbags from her collection before.
