“IT” was a breakout horror film when it came out last year, but we’re only halfway through. As hinted in the credits, “IT 2” has more to offer.
We already know that Bill Skarsgard will be reprising his role as the cannibalistic demon. But since the sequel will take place 27 years later, the kids from The Loser’s Club are going to be adults when they face off against Pennywise again.
Bill Denbrough is the leader of The Loser’s Club, so it makes sense to hire someone who can carry a movie as a leading man. The stuttering but brave Bill was previously portrayed by Jaeden Lieberher and we couldn’t be happier that the studio has decided to go with James.
2. Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh
Jessica Chastain had long been a fan-favourite to take on the role of Bev. Even Sophia Lills herself, who played the younger version of Bev, hoped that the award-winning actress would play her adult counterpart. Fans have also been pointing out Chastain’s incredible resemblance to Lillis, and the casting directors agreed.
3. Bill Hader as Richie Tozier
James Ransone is probably best known for starring in “Ziggy on The Wire”, but he also has some experience in the horror genre when he portrayed the deputy in “Sinister” and “Sinister 2”. Ransone will be the adult version of Eddie Kaspbrak, who suffered from his mother’s delusions of illness in the first movie.
5. Andy Bean as Stanley Uris
Andy Bean is relatively new in Hollywood, so it’ll be interesting to see him take over from Wyatt Oleff in playing the most reluctant and fearful of the group, Stanley Uris.
Members Mike Hanlon (who stayed behind in Derry) and Ben Hanscom (bullied victim) are the only 2 remaining Losers yet to have their adult selves cast.
