When a celebrity starts acting strange on social media, it’s normal for fans to voice concern. Recently, Taiwanese actress Vivian Hsu (徐若瑄) sparked worries among fans after posting ambiguous photos of her in black and white.

According to reports, the star posted two photos on her Instagram account late at night on 25th February 2025 (Tuesday). The first photo was of Vivian in a recording studio. However, her face was covered with the phrases “it’s okay” and “it hurts” in English and Japanese. She captioned the photo, “Learn to speak the most naked voices to yourself. It’s never easy to be empathetic and true emotions aren’t always pleasant. Learning to be less concerned with disappointment allows you to let go of other people’s reasons.”

The second photo she posted only added to the concern because it was a photo of her with the broken heart emoji. Many fans took these two photos as hints that Vivian is going through some tough times. Just last November, the 49-year-old star shocked fans after she revealed her thyroid cancer diagnosis. However, the actress has undergone surgery and said she’s recovering well.

Following netizens’ concerning messages, Vivian posted on Instagram to assure fans that she’s fine and there is nothing to worry about. According to the star, the photos and her captions were merely reflections after watching a film, noting that she felt a creative inspiration. She also apologised for causing concern with her postings. Fans have since reacted to the post, expressing relief that the star is doing well.

Vivian’s cancer diagnosis also came after the star announced her divorce from Singapore-based business Sean Lee. The pair divorced in late 2023 after nine years of marriage, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. After the separation, Vivian gained custody of the couple’s nine-year-old son, Dalton. However, the star once described her divorce as the hardest decision of her life.

We’re glad that Vivian is doing fine despite the worrying posts. However, we hope the star will be open to reaching out when she needs comfort instead of bottling up her emotions.
