Good news Malaysian Otakus, your favourite anime characters from “One Piece” will be coming to town.
In celebration of their 20th anniversary, Monkey･D･Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates will be coming to you via a special exhibition. The event, titled “Eiichiro Oda presents: Hello, ONE PIECE Luffy is here!”, will take place at Isetan The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur for a duration of 2 months, starting this Saturday (26th August).
First started as a series in 1997 by Eiichiro Oda, the Japanese best-selling manga centres on Luffy, who has the ability to stretch himself like a rubber after eating the “Gum-Gum Devil Fruit”. Together with his Straw Hat Pirates gang, they embark on various adventures to gather mysterious treasures known as “One Piece”.
As the lucky 1st country selected for the “One Piece” exhibition, visitors will get to an insight into the mind of creator Eiichiro Oda, experience a “One Piece” virtual reality in full 3D, and check out a ton of “One Piece” movie illustrations. If that’s not enough, original merchandise such as T-shirts and stationaries will also be on sale.
