This action came shortly after Liu Yi Fei liked a video of Richard wishing International Women’s Day. In the video, the Huawei chairman filled a Luxeed R7 car with yellow roses. He also said, “Yellow roses symbolise freedom and courage. Happy International Women’s Day”.
While the move seemed like a simple gesture for the occasion, many netizens speculated that the yellow roses hint at a special connection between the chairman and the actress. After starring in the C-drama, “The Tale Of Rose (玫瑰的故事)”, Liu Yi Fei is often associated with yellow roses. Many Chinese netizens also use the flower to refer to the 37-year-old actress on social media, so it’s believed Richard was doing the same with his video.
In addition, many fans noted that the interaction is one of the rare occasions where Liu Yi Fei publicly interacts with a famous male figure. The actress is famously free of romantic gossip, so liking the video and following the tech giant chairman further sparked interest.
