Local entrepreneur Iqbal Zulkefli is back again with more social media drama. This time he’s being called out for hanging out with several “Mak Nyah”s (transwomen)!
Iqbal Zulkefli has had a pretty volatile relationship with online denizens, especially after his public spat with former flame Datuk Seri Vida. As such, when he was spotted with a group of transwomen, netizens were quick wonder what exactly he’d been up to!
Recently on TikTok, a photo has been making its rounds showing a figure, allegedly Iqbal, speaking to a group of transwomen by the side of a road. Many were certain the person in the photo was the 29-year-old entrepreneur, which led to netizens speculating if Iqbal was “getting service” from the group. Well, it didn’t take long for Iqbal to speak up about the issue.
He confirmed he had indeed met a group of transwomen on Sunday (8th October) night at Bukit Bintang. He then claimed he had chatted briefly with the group before leaving. “This is the first time I’ve been approached by transwomen and I didn’t think they be more understanding than actual women I’ve known before this,” he alleged when speaking to mStar.
The entrepreneur reportedly claimed he had been hugged by them and he did give them a sum of money, but supposedly did not state why. In an explanation on his Instagram, Iqbal claimed he had not been aware he was being recorded, reconfirming he had been speaking to the group. “I (welcome all), whoever they are,” he said. “I apologise if my presence there caused ‘confusion’ again.”
Iqbal Zulkefli has requested another opportunity to explain himself better as the issue is still trending, but has yet to do so. Still, hopefully the fuss will die down with his second explanation, if and when it drops soon.
