(Video) Influencer Feels It’s Ok For Kids To Throw Tantrum In Public; Actress Betty Rahmad Disagrees

Children can be a blessing in people’s lives but they can also be very unpredictable, especially in public spaces. Parents have to always supervise and be aware of the surroundings especially when young kids might end up breaking something.

When it comes to tantrums, most parents would usually do everything within their capabilities to try and calm their children but this influencer, apparently, feels that everyone else should just mind their own business. Here’s what happened:

Influencer Cikgu Ayu or @cikguayu_imtecer recently posted a video on TikTok to share her thoughts about an unpleasant experience. In the video, the TikToker asked the public to not give judgemental stares whenever they see a parent struggling to calm their child down in restaurants. “If you don’t like the noisy environment, you might as well just eat at home,” she said.

The content creator further elaborated that people should not give side-eyes to parents whenever their children start crying or throwing tantrums in restaurants as it’s normal for them, especially toddlers to behave that way. “Please, it’s extremely unnecessary for you guys to give those looks to parents. If you’re too bothered by it, you can just pack your meal and eat at home,” said the mother-of-three.

The viral video garnered all kinds of reactions from netizens and it even caught the attention of actress Betty Rahmad who also gave her 2 cents on the influencer’s statement. The 41-year-old mother posted on her TikTok to share that she disagrees with Cikgu Ayu’s solution, saying that it’s still the parent’s responsibility to attend to their crying children in public.

“As parents, we should do whatever is necessary to calm our children because people pay to eat their meals there, not to hear our children cry. We can’t be selfish,” she said. In a follow-up video, the actress further clarified that she has no intention to argue with anybody or the TikToker saying that she just wanted parents to be responsible for their children and not simply blame others when something goes wrong.

As for Cikgu Ayu herself, she has since apologised for offending anyone with her statement and promised to be more mindful in the future. Watch her apology video below:

Parents too have their bad days. A little kindness doesn’t hurt.
