It appears that people living in the Klang Valley are becoming more and more reckless. Just this past weekend, another large group received a hefty fine for not following the government’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Harian Metro reported yesterday (Sunday, 6th September) that 161 people had violated the SOPs at a pub in Damansara Utama. As a result, they were each fined RM1000.

The Selangor Secret Societies, Gambling and Vice (D7) Division of the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) was responsible for raiding the premise on Saturday night (5th September). As seen from the snapshots taken at the scene, there was hardly any social distancing.

“All the individuals were aged 20 to 40 and were found not complying with physical distancing and the rules set during the period of the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO),” Selangor D7 Staff Officer, Deputy Superintendent Zuhairee Mohamad Rashid was quoted as saying.

Zuhairee continued, “All of them were compounded and allowed to return after the compound was handed out to them.”

As someone pointed out, all it takes is for one irresponsible person with Covid-19 to cause a new cluster. The fight against the deadly disease is still far from over.
