Sometimes love doesn’t always work out but it’s not the end of the world. Back in 2020, singer Jaclyn Victor shocked fans when news broke out that she and then-husband musician Shawn Rivera had called it quits. The former couple were married for 6 years and have 2 children together, Jonah Joshiah and Molly Marguerite Rivera.
Since then, the first “Malaysian Idol” winner has been doing pretty well for herself but there hasn’t been much update about her ex until earlier this year. He announced on Instagram back in April that he had remarried and here’s what Jaclyn had to say about the relationship:
In an interview with Oh Bulan, Jaclyn Victor revealed how she first heard of her ex-husband and his new wife Erika’s marriage. “I found out about it through his IG. He once said that he didn’t want to remarry but then he found his true love. I’m very happy for him and congratulated him through IG. I pray that they both will be happy forever,” she said.
The songstress also shared that the two of them have remained on good terms since their separation for the sake of their children. “We’re still good friends and we’ve done our best to care for our children. While [Shawn] doesn’t live here, he frequently calls or video calls the kids. He came to visit last month and spent time with them,” the 45-year-old added.
It was previously reported that Jaclyn has no plans to bring the children to the States but assured the public that he’s always welcome to see them whenever he’s in Malaysia. It’s nice to see that things have worked out just fine between the two former lovers.
In other news, as seen in the poster above, Jaclyn Victor also announced her first solo concert that will take place at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on 12th October (Saturday) and tickets will go on sale starting tomorrow (Thursday, 6th June).
