The “Malaysian Idol” winner revealed that one of her biggest achievements ever was when she sang for then-President of the United States, Barack Obama at Istana Negara in 2014. “After the show, I felt really nervous because how do you ask the President of the United States for a photo?” she said. Fortunately, with her manager’s help, the “Gemilang” artist managed to get a candid photo of her shaking hands with the politician.
She stated that she felt appreciated and respected as Obama fully paid attention to her performance that evening. Not only that, the former president apparently invited the 44-year-old to the White House where she was supposed to perform a duet with legendary American singer-songwriter Stevie Wonder!
But unfortunately, the multi-award-winning singer had to turn down the invitation as she had a prior commitment. “I was sad but obviously, I wasn’t going to cancel the charity show I signed up for at the time,” she explained.
Apart from her biggest achievements, during the rapid-fire questions, Jaclyn shared one of her dream collaborations. “I would love to do a duet with Steven Tyler from Aerosmith. I’m such a huge fan,” she said while also manifesting the duet with Stevie Wonder.
The interview wouldn’t have been complete without the singer mentioning her children. When asked if any of her children have any musical talents, the mother-of-two shared a video of her daughter singing in Tagalog. “This girl just loves singing. Both my children do. But education is top priority cause I didn’t have that opportunity growing up,” she said.
