We as human beings can be overly judgemental at times. As soon as someone does something that is far from normal, criticisms will be hurled at them.

During Raya season, a Putrajaya hotel staff made his own baju Raya (Raya clothing) and posted pictures of him wearing them on Tiktok. The Malaysian’s video went viral, however, netizens made fun of him for having a fashion sense that was different from others.

Upon receiving the insulting comments, Muhammad Faddrullah Ismail was unbothered by them. “I don’t care what people say because everyone has their own opinion.”

He told Harian Metro, “What you want to say is up to you because every individual has the right to speak and my family is okay with it so far. My brother and sister even helped take my pictures on Raya morning.”

He added that he sews his own clothes for Raya because he wants to wear clothes that are different from others. “The styled clothes were sewn specifically in conjunction with Aidilfitri for my own satisfaction and not for ‘content’ or to go viral on social media.”

Having designing and sewing his own baju Raya since 2013, the part-time tailor vowed that he will continue making pieces like these each year. “As long as I’m able and have (the) inspiration, I will continue to produce Aidilfitri clothing with more unique designs.”
