K-pop star HyunA (현아) has been in hot waters ever since she started dating former HIGHLIGHT/BEAST (하이라이트/ 비스트) member Yong Junhyung (용준형), who was involved in the Burning Sun scandal. It also didn’t help the fact that the disgraced idol was her late best friend Goo Hara’s ex-boyfriend so it’s understandable why fans considered this to be a form of betrayal since Goo Hara played a key role in exposing those involved in the scandal.
HyunA continues to shock the world when she was on her way to board her flight to Japan for the XD World Music Festival very recently. At first glance, the singer was seen sporting a very casual look at the airport but upon closer inspection, many were lost for words about her choice of accessory.
In the photos taken by Korean media, the “CHANGE” artist was seen wearing a polka dot shirt, a Chanel cap and a black skirt but netizens were bewildered after noticing a lace thong on the outside of her skirt. While she’s known for her unique stage outfits when she’s performing, this is one look that many were not expecting to see her in public.
Some questioned if she was doing this for attention because of the negativity press that’s been surrounding her engagement with Yong Junhyung while others felt her choice of accessory was shameful. According to Korean news outlets, there were also those who thought she might be pregnant because of her weight gain but her company, AT AREA quickly denied those rumours.
Meanwhile, HyunA’s recent performances at the XD World Music Festival and the Super Race Championship’s Summer Night Race event were not well-received by netizens. In photos and videos circulating on social media, the idol was shown to be lacking energy and seemed unfocused based on her facial expressions.
This caused many to criticise her for not putting much effort into the performances. Some were concerned if she was unwell or if her mood was affected by the crowd’s silent treatment towards her due to her scandal. After the performances went viral, one fan argued that the entertainer actually did well during one of the shows. According to a Reddit post, it was claimed that the audience at the XD World Music Festival cheered for her throughout her set but the music was simply too loud to hear anything.
