Taeyeon (태연) is back with a beautiful autumn ballad that will give you all the feels.
SM Entertainment dropped the Girls’ Generation leader’s surprise single, titled “11:11”, at 11pm (KST) last night (Tuesday, 1st November) and we’ve already put it on replay.
Taking a step back from her bright image in “Why”, Taeyeon’s surprise single shows her mature side. With lyrics by famous lyricist Kim Eana (김이나), the soothing acoustic ballad is about reminiscing a former lover’s past wishes when the clock strikes at 11:11. Hence the song’s opening sentence, “It’s 11:11”.
The music video, which stars the songstress herself, starts off with a couple’s quarrel, leading the man to take his jacket and leave the room. The scene then shows Taeyeon having a night walk by the beach, probably to clear her thoughts. She arrives home to a dinner made by her boyfriend. Looking at her beau, she is reminded of the incident that led to their argument in the first place.
Storyline aside, we loved the beautiful ocean shots done by the cinematography. Well done, whoever you are 🙂
