“I’ve taken a solemn oath to form a secret ninja force. Are you ready to risk your life for Ninjago?”
Warner Bros. has finally released the teaser trailer for “The LEGO Ninjago Movie”! Directed by Charlie Bean (from “Dexter Laboratory” and “Tron: Uprising”), the latest addition to the “The LEGO Movie” universe stars Jackie Chan as Master Wu and Dave Franco (of “Now You See Me 2” fame) as the Green Ninja aka Lloyd.
Set in Ninjago City, the story follows young Lloyd and his secret warrior friends. The team, led by the wise Master Wu, must defeat evil warlord Garmadon (voiced by Justin Theroux), the Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their true power.
While the 25-second-long teaser trailer doesn’t show much, it ends with Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood”, which is pretty funny.
“The LEGO Ninjago Movie” also stars Michael Peña (of “Ant Man” fame) as Kai, Olivia Munn (of “X-Men: Apocalypse” fame) as Lloyd’s mom, “SNL” star Fred Armisen as Cole, Abbi Jacobson as Nya, and Zach Woods as Zane. The script is penned by the creators of “Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu” – Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman.
The movie is slated for release on 22nd September 2017.
