The trailer for “Goodbye Christopher Robin” has finally arrived!
Inspired by real-life event, the Simon Curtis-directed film follows the relationship of “Winnie the Pooh” creator A.A. Milne and his son, Christopher Robin Milne. Written by Frank Cottrell Boyce and Simon Vaughan, the heartwarming tearjerker is set after the events of World War I.
The trailer (above) shows how the well-loved author, who served in the war, came to write “Winnie the Pooh”. After moving to a farm, Milne attempts to pen something that will “make the world see”. One night, his son comes to him and say, “I’d really like if you wrote a book for me. I’d definitely read it.”
The clip also features how the family deals with the price of international fame after the release of “Winnie the Pooh”.
The official synopsis for “Goodbye Christopher Robin” reads:
“The movie gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children’s author A. A. Milne (played by Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin (played by Will Tilston), whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (played by Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive (played by Kelly Macdonald), Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?”
The film also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge as Mary Brown, Geraldine Somerville as Lady O, Alex Lawther as the Older Christopher Robin, Stephen Campbell Moore as Ernest, Nico Mirallegro as Cooper, Vicki Pepperdine as Betty, Richard McCabe as Rupert, and Shaun Dingwall as Alfred.
“Goodbye Christopher Robin” will hit UK cinemas on 29th September and US cinemas on 10th November.
