Hype’s Must Watch: “Game of Thrones” Star Jason Momoa’s “Road to Paloma”

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound, mega-macho Jason Momoa is perhaps best known as the battle-hardened horse lord Khal Drogo in the multiple award-winning and award-nominated “Game of Thrones” who speaks, well, very little, especially when compared to his on-screen wife, Daenerys Targaryen.

In person, however, Jason Momoa is bursting with enthusiasm and energy much more so than the “Game of Thrones” character he plays because he’s got some tricks up his sleeve. One of which is starring in, co-writing, and directing a politically charged action-drama road movie, “Road to Paloma”.

“I am so happy for everything I have, and I’m thrilled to be able to bring it all together for this film,” he says.

The offbeat indie flick follows the journey of a Native American on the run after he is forced to murder the man who killed his mother. It gave Jason the opportunity to hack up the stereotypical expectations of “Game of Thrones” fans who expect to find him hanging around the supermarket in animal skins, looking for neighbours to slay.

Perhaps the best part of the movie is the fact that he cast his wife, Lisa Bonet, as his passionate love interest! True, Jason and Lisa have 2 kids and a 7-year marriage to draw from so you’d think that expression passion, especially, should be a breeze for the couple.

But Jason confesses, “It was hard to do, because we’re not playing us. But we do match our real passion, which isn’t easy putting on-screen. I was actually very shy about it, which is not normal for me.”

Hey, if he can do half as well as when he did when he got it in with Daenerys Targaryen (played by actress Emilia Clarke) in “Game of Thrones”, like this:

..we say it’s a job well done!

“Road to Paloma” was completed with a budget of just $600,000, with Jason calling on friends and family (read: Lisa Bonet) to complete the film on such a limited budget. Watch the trailer:

Pretty impressive for a directorial debut, no? Hit up the movie’s official website for more information.

Meanwhile, he is also rumored to be playing Aquaman in the upcoming “Batman V Superman” film, though his publicist warned that questions about that role were off limits.
