Last year, we had an amazing time in Taiwan exploring exciting tourist spots and trying some delicious Muslim-friendly food! Recently, the Taiwan Tourism Administration Kuala Lumpur Office hosted the Best of Salam Taiwan Awards Night to honour Malaysian media professionals who took part in the Salam Taiwan familiarisation trips over the past year and played a key role in promoting Taiwan as a Muslim-friendly travel destination.
The event brought together over 100 media representatives, social media influencers, and celebrities for a memorable iftar celebration in the heart of Kuala Lumpur. One of the highlights of the evening was when we were announced as one of the winners! Here’s what went down:
The evening was graced by the presence of esteemed guests including Mr. James Buu, Deputy Representative of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia; Mr. Abe Chou, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration Kuala Lumpur Office; airline representatives; and the ambassador of Salam Taiwan Nabila Razali, all of whom gathered to extend their appreciation to the media community for their continued support and contribution.
In his remarks, Mr. James Buu stated, “Malaysia remains one of Taiwan’s most important tourism markets. The Muslim community’s specific needs have inspired us to continually enhance the overall quality of our tourism services. Through the real-life stories and experiences shared by Malaysian media and influencers, Taiwan’s hospitality and warmth are being seen, felt, and celebrated — instilling greater confidence and excitement among Malaysian travellers.”
A unique awards ceremony was held at the event to honour exceptional contributions in several key categories, including video content creation, social media impact, and feature storytelling, as a way to express gratitude for the media’s continued support. The awards presentation was met with enthusiastic applause and heartfelt celebration. It gives us great pleasure to announce that Hype Malaysia won the Golden Winner title in the Best Visuals category!
In the future, the Taiwan Tourism Administration reiterated its commitment to strengthening ties with Malaysia’s media, travel, and creative sectors. The project aims to co-create more customised, Muslim-friendly travel experiences by enhancing the Salam Taiwan brand, thereby securing Taiwan’s position as a top travel destination for Muslim tourists from Malaysia.
