Hong Kong singer Jeannie Ng Ka-yan (吳家忻), or better known as @/Kayan9896 on Instagram and Spotify, was revealed to be dating the third generation billionaire Ma Gui Feng (马桂烽) in March this year. This was the singer’s first relationship after breaking up with actor Lam Ka Hei (林家熙), also known as Locker Lam.
Kayan9896 and Gui Feng had even met each other’s parents, a sign that the relationship was going on strong, and both sides were taking it seriously. The two were photographed together, and Kayan9896 admitted that she had been dating the billionaire for almost half a year before it was officially revealed to the public.
However, what seemed like a blooming love story abruptly came to an end, like a bud being pruned. Yesterday (22nd December), Kayan9896 posted a simple message on her Instagram story. With it was the message that she and the billionaire had broken up.
This came as a shock to many. There were no further details, and it had been a very sudden announcement, but it was revealed that the two had already been separated for a month before the singer’s statement. It was further supported by Gui Feng’s mother, actress Xue Zhi Lun (薛芷伦), the “Ball Queen”, removing her Mother’s day photos with Kayan9896.

There does seem to be hope for the pair though. Rumours are going around that this entire breakup has been staged on Instagram. It’s speculated that the two haven’t really separated, and are still together behind the scenes.
It seems impossible, but even though Kayan9896 and Gui Feng broke up, Kayan9896 is still following her billionaire ex. Not only that, but a quick search in who the singer is following will reveal that she’s still following Zhi Lun, her ex’s mother. More surprisingly, Zhi Lun is also still following the singer!
Whatever the circumstances are, we wish the best for the pair, whether they are together or not. After all, Kayan9896 did request for privacy on her story, and that should be respected. Do you think the two are faking a breakup?
