Normally, most people wouldn’t care much if the product they bought is from a counterfeit brand as long as it serves its purposes and does no harm to the body. However, you definitely wouldn’t find these counterfeits being sold at luxury establishments or even at airports for that matter.

Yesterday (Monday, 22nd January), a netizen who goes by @/edjunaidi or Ed posted a photo of something he came across at a shop when he was walking around the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 2. The photo in question is believed to be a counterfeit perfume of the luxury brand HUGO BOSS.

“Why was this being sold at KLIA2? It’s like I’m at Petaling Street with all the counterfeit and imitation items,” the netizen wrote. As seen in the photo above, it may look like a normal luxury perfume but if you look closely, the words HUGO BOOS and Sauvace are written on the box and bottle instead of HUGO BOSS and Sauvage.

The post garnered a lot of attention from netizens who were all baffled that something like this would even be allowed to be sold at KLIA. Some wondered how the counterfeits were able to be displayed at the store while others made jokes about the situation. There were also those who weren’t surprised, claiming they’ve seen plenty of fake brands being sold at not just KLIA but other luxury malls as well.

There is currently no information if the original poster brought the issue up with the store or airport’s management regarding selling counterfeits. Since some people claimed that this is not necessarily new, we do wonder how long has this been going on. What do you think?
