It’s a painful thing to lose someone you love. Hong Kong actor Gabriel Harrison (海俊杰) recently lost his wife Effie Mok (莫家慈), just weeks after his public appeal for donations to save her life.
According to reports, Effie passed away on the evening of 27th November 2025 (Thursday) from acute liver failure. At the moment, Gabriel hasn’t shared many details about his wife’s passing or funeral procession. However, the public has expressed their condolences to the former TVB actor through his social media pages.

Effie’s passing comes after Harrison’s online appeal for donations for an emergency treatment for her illness. Earlier this month, the actor posted a distressing video of himself on social media, breaking down in tears multiple times. In the video, Harrison appeals to the public to help raise HK$700,000 (approximately RM372,000) for Effie’s surgery.
In a follow-up post, Harrison revealed that he received financial support from a few celebrities, including Eric Tsang and Louis Koo. He also shared more details about Effie’s treatment, revealing that she spent 20 days at the Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong before getting transferred to Zhongshan Hospital in Guangzhou for further treatment.

It’s unknown whether Effie managed to undergo a liver transplant before her passing. Nevertheless, Harrison thanked the public and his industry friends for their support during the urgency to help his wife. For the record, Effie is a makeup artist, and the couple met in 2012 while working in Beijing. They tied the knot in 2017.
We extend our condolences to Harrison and Effie’s loved ones. May they find solace during this difficult time.
