South India’s superstar musical duo Hip Hop Tamizha, is set to electrify Kuala Lumpur on 3rd August with their “Return of the Dragon” concert at KL Base in Sungei Besi. Comprised of Adhithya Ramachandran Venkatapathy (aka Adhi) and R. Jeeva, the duo is renowned for pioneering Tamil hip-hop music. Their rise to fame began with their independent hit “Club le Mabbu le” in 2011 and was solidified with their debut album “Hip Hop Tamizhan” in 2012, India’s first Tamil hip-hop album.
The concert has generated immense excitement among Malaysian fans, evidenced by the rapid sell-out of the initial 14,000 tickets. Due to overwhelming demand, organizers City Production, led by K. Rishi and Govinda Reddy Rajagopal, released an additional 1,000 tickets, which are also selling fast. The event’s popularity was highlighted during a recent Meet-The-Fans session at a popular Brickfields mall, where hundreds gathered to catch a glimpse of Adhi.
Adhi’s appreciation for Malaysia goes beyond his musical performances; he acknowledges the country’s role in nurturing Tamil-independent music. With the concert promising an unforgettable night of music and tribute to Tamil hip hop’s roots, fans can anticipate a spectacular show from an artist who deeply loves his craft and audience.
