It’s been a couple of days since Malaysian-born actor Hero Tai (戴祖雄) and Ukrainian model Tatiana Marchyshyna (林佳娜) made their relationship official. After followers suspected the duo were dating, the couple confirmed it on 15th August. In fact, they clarified that they have been dating for more than a year!
Well, Hero and Tatiana did explain their reasons for it, and people have been fairly understanding. However, there has been a sticking point in their love story. Tatiana and Hero were actually friends-with-benefits before their romantic relationship now. And the duo staunchly insist having a sexual relationship first is a good thing!
Tatiana released her latest video to discuss a topic that had been popping up since their announcement. Apparently, some fans hadn’t been too happy to discover they were hooking up prior to dating. Hero even mentioned that some parents had criticised them, claiming they were teaching kids the wrong things.
But, the couple apparently have a very different take on the whole matter. Hero explained that their sexual relationship previously hadn’t been very wild. In fact, the only difference between then and now was their communication. “People often think that if you have one friend-with-benefits, you will have more as well,” Hero said. Tatiana was quick to jump in with her own grievances. “Do you know how difficult it is to take care of one person, let alone ten on the side?” she snapped.
That aside, the duo felt hooking up before a relationship was fine. For Tatiana, it was a way of confirming whether the guy was a match for her, both in and out of the bedroom. “If you find someone you love, but your sexual relationship isn’t good, how miserable will you be for the rest of your life?” she asked.
Tatiana added that she always hopes for a long-term relationship leading to marriage. As such, the model felt checking their sexual affinity was important as well. “What are you going to do (if it isn’t suitable)?” she stated rhetorically. “(Will) you break up with him? (Then the relationship) is just a waste of time.”
Netizens so far have been in agreement with the couple with several insisting that people should be free to dictate their own relationship. Many are also declaring their support to Tatiana and Hero and wishing their relationship well.
It’s certainly interesting to hear their thoughts about sex-before-dating. Although we have to admit their relationship isn’t conventional in the traditional sense, it appears to be working well for them!
