Religious Muslim men are very synonymous with keeping facial hair on them; beards, to be exact. It’s a sunnah in the religion, it’s not compulsory but it’s a tradition that was first practised by prophet Muhammad.
However, recently, there has been one particular entrepreneur that has caught netizens’ attention with his rebonding-like beard. Yes, you guessed it right! The recently married Dato’ Seri Mahadi Badrul Zaman.
The marriage of Datin Seri Heliza Helmi and Dato’ Seri Mahadi Badrul Zaman has been the talk of the town over the past few days. The wedding was probably overshadowed by the groom’s beard. It’s very prominent that even Dewan Bahasa Pustaka (DBP) has decided to jump on the bandwagon. They know that it’s easier explaining idioms when it’s done in a fun and relatable way.
So, yesterday (3rd January), the DBP social media accounts administrator posted an old idiom infographic on their social media page. The idiom goes as, “Seperti janggut pulang ke dagu,” which carries the meaning of something that belongs where it is. The infographic shows a bald Caucasian man in a suit, twirling his beard with both of his hands.
The online infographic poster that was posted both on their Twitter and Instagram has tickled the funny bones of netizens. The ones on Twitter said, “We know the reference“, and another made a comparison with the singer of the metal band System of a Down.
Another even mentioned how DBP’s admin’s humour and content is on par with Mydin‘s social media intern. While the netizens on Instagram complimented DBP for always keeping up with trends.
Putting aside the 17-year-old beard issue, we wish Datin Seri Heliza Helmi and Dato’ Seri Mahadi Badrul Zaman a long lasting happy and blessed marriage!
