After a long wait, SM Entertainment has officially announced the debut of its newest girl group. The 8-member group, Hearts2Hearts (하츠투하츠), will make their official debut on 24th February 2025 (Monday). The announcement came after the official teaser played at the recent SMTOWN LIVE 2025 concert, giving the public a glimpse of the members.
While the group boasts an impressive line-up, one member who caught many netizens’ attention was Carmen (카르멘). The idol has gone viral on Twitter for her rare background as an SM Entertainment trainee, as she’s the first Indonesian idol under the renowned agency. Carmen, whose full name is Nyoman Ayu Carmenita, is reportedly from Bali, Indonesia, making her the first Indonesian idol to debut in SM Entertainment. She’s also only the second Southeast Asian idol to debut under the agency, following NCT/WayV’s Ten. As Indonesian idols are still rare in the K-pop industry, many Southeast Asian K-pop fans have voiced interest in Carmen.
She Was Active In Academics & Sports During Her Student Days
Carmen’s school days have also caught netizens’ attention because, as it turns out, the idol was a brilliant student who excelled in academics and extracurricular activities. According to sources, Carmen often boasts high exam scores and was the class president. She reportedly won first place in the women’s high jump at a student athletic competition.
